This half-century anniversary seemed all the more important because a transphobic bigot is in the White House.ĭuring Gay Pride month, unlike President Obama who literally turned the White House Rainbow colours, Trump recently instructed US embassies around the world not to fly the rainbow flag. Fifty years later it was joyous to see over three million people (almost half the population of London) coming together to celebrate and remember the struggle and the fight for equality, and remember loved ones lost along the way for World Pride.
